Who does she think she is? Does she think her wedding guests have an unlimited budget to get a brand new outfit the night before her wedding? What about guests who are traveling from out of town?

If you've been to your fair share of millennial or Gen Z weddings, you've probably had the experience of being told exactly what to wear by the bride and groom. In many cases, their requests are incredibly reasonable. They don't want you wearing the same color as the bridesmaids, so you don't get mistaken for one. They don't want you to wear white, even if it's a patterned white dress. It's implied that you shouldn't wear a gown that could upstage the bride's dress in its extravagance. It's pretty easy for anyone to follow those rules, even if it means buying a new dress for the occasion. 

The newer phenomenon is couples asking all guests to adhere to a strict color palette. They want their Uncle Steve to buy a pastel suit because a black suit would look bad in pictures. They want their guests to be extensions of the wedding party because it's much more important for their wedding to look good on Instagram than it is to inconvenience their friends and family who want to support them. 

The couple in this story thought they were following the bride and groom's requests, but they found out the couple had changed their mind about what was "acceptable" dress mere 24 hours before the wedding!
